Carnethy Trophy Winners

Burns Scott Trophy:

Burns Scott Trophy The Burns Scott Trophy is in honour of Burns Scott who founded Carnethy Hill Running Club in 1983. He is also the co-founder of the Carnethy 5 Hill Race, which was founded back in 1971.
The trophy is awarded annually to the person(s) who has contributed most to the club or achieved most or done something special related to the club.

Scald Law Trophy:

scald law trophy The Scald Law Trophy is named after the highest hill in the Pentlands as it is awarded to the Carnethy member who has, in the opinion of club members, achieved the "highest" or best athletic performance of the year.

Handicap Trophy:

Handicap Shield and Leaders Vest! The popular club handicap competition has been running since 1989. There is a shield for the winner to keep for a year, plus the "Leaders" vest which must be worn at the start of the next season.

Club Championship:

The 2008 Club Championship Winner's Flask The Club Championship has been running on various formats since 2004. The club champion gets an engraved flask (to keep !).

Allermuir Junior Trophy:

Allermuir Junior Trophy

This trophy (running since 2003) is awarded to the Junior runner in the club who has, in the opinion of club members, achieved the most in the year whether that be athletically or through enthusiasm or spirit.

Carnethy Radical Runner Trophy:

This trophy is awarded to someone who has done something radical or extreme in the past year.
2011 Jon Ascroft for bike carrying at Three Peaks Cyclocross race

 

The Wooden Spoon Trophy:

This trophy is awarded to a person who has done something stupid, caused chaos, been involved in a mishap etc.
2011 Digby Maass for an epic episode involving lost keys at the 2 Breweries Race
