President
Robin Haynes |
The new pared down format of this event provided a highly convivial –and
informal- evening. No fancy sit down meal but plenty of food, a cheap
bar, an excellent band and also plenty of time and space to eat, drink
and blether. |

Anne Nimmo |
The winner of the Burns Scott Trophy for the most noteworthy contribution
to the Club in the year was Anne Nimmo, for her services as President.
The runner up was Andy Spenceley for taking over organisation of the
Carnethy 5 race at short notice. |
Alex Menarry |
Alex Menarry proved to be a hugely popular winner of the Scald Law
Trophy for outstanding athletic achievement in the year. In 2005,
Alex won an Over 70 Silver medal at the World Masters. The other nominees
for this prize were : Jill Mykura, for her successes in winning the
British Championship title; Stewart Whitlie, for his many achievements
this year, including the British Veterans title and The Male Vets
Team, for their achievement in winning the British Championships. |

Shane Bouchier |
Prizes (booze mostly) are awarded to winners of each handicap over
the year and to the overall winner of the handicap series who this
year was new member Shane Bouchier. Happily, the handicap secretary
was present so that should be Shane out of the running for next year’s
competition. |
In previous years the Club Championship competition
has reflected the winner’s commitment to entering either prestigious
or esoteric races and was of the form of a ladder competition. This
year, the
competition was broadened to reward those putting effort into the
organisation of club events. So reflecting a summer of chasing his
wife around the country to race and a huge contribution to making
club races happen and happen well, this magnificent trophy was won
by Willie Mykura. |
Winner of The Caerketton Junior Trophy for outstanding athletic
ability of a junior was Lewis Holding who not only looks like mum
Hilary but can run like her too. |
