Red Moss Handicap

Meet at Red Moss car park at GR 167 638. Race route takes you south up the road towards Bavelaw Castle. At fork in the road turn right and then after 20 metres left onto public right of way (to Nine-mile-burn) and follow this path across the moor.  After crossing a wall at a stile, the path dips and turns before climbing slightly. At col between Green Law (West) and West Kip (East) turn and climb West Kip, admire views as you follow path steeply down to the col and then up East Kip, down again and on up to summit of Scald Law (Trig point). Continue down the zigzag path to the col and turn north down the Old Kirk Road towards The Howe. On valley floor turn left, and follow path West and then north West through Green Cleugh. As valley opens out to your West (and before path begins to climb round Black Hill, cross fence at stile and follow track behind Hare Hill and waymark to stile by Bavelaw Castle.  Follow road back down to Red Moss car park.
