The start is from Boghall Car Park. (1)

The route passes 7 unmarked points.

2. The junction of the Swanston Public footpath with the Allermuir Caerketton col.
3. The top of Allermuir.
4. The gate on the path between Allermuir and Castlelaw.
5. An eight foot tall metal sheet with a hole in it used by the army (standing upright next to the path).
6. Castlelaw summit.
7. The gully just before Woodhouselea hill(turn off the landrover track at the broken ceramic sink, there is a faint path).
There is a substantial stile at the burn side left corner of the new fence. Cross there and go along the fence/wall to find a metal bridge crossing the barbed wire fence.
Then cross the burn to rejoin the path and run to the finish
