The route passes 7 unmarked points.

2. The junction of the Swanston Public footpath with the Allermuir Caerketton col.
3. The top of Allermuir.
4. The gate on the path between Allermuir and Castleaw.
5. An eight foot tall metal sheet with a hole in ti used by the army (stnding upright next to the path).
6. Castlelaw summit.
7. The gully just before Woodhouselea hill(50 yards past the broken ceramic sink).
watch the stream crossing, the best pont is just south of point 7.
Then cross the valley to rejoin the path and run to the finish
